It has been a while, but finally there are news for the future of our project.
With the implementation of new analysis methods in our software, we are looking forward to start our new "peptide" project in a few weeks.
Further information will follow in the "projects" section of the homepage soon.

At the moment, the new application and some test jobs are available on our Test Server.

If you like to help us, use the “Add project” wizard of your BOINC client and paste the Project URL “http://int-boinctest.int.kit.edu/poem/” into the corresponding text field, as our test server is not listed as an official BOINC project. We appreciate every help for testing, but please keep the following in mind:
- Test server results will not be used for scientific publications.
- Credits will not be listed in the BOINC cross-project statistics.
- Test server applications may crash your system, so be sure to save any valuable data beforehand.
Best practice is to return a few tasks, and immediately detach from the POEM@TEST project.

This update does also include a new Mac OSX CPU version, as well as a first attempt for OSX GPU support (NVIDIA and AMD).
We'd appreciate every voluntary help, especially regarding the testing of Mac versions.
*edit: The new Mac version requires OSX 10.9 or newer

Best regards,
your POEM@HOME Team

I downloaded eight work units (apparently the maximum), and ran them on two GTX 960s on an i7-4790 machine (Win7 64-bit). There was one CPU core provided to each card.

They ran in 21 1/2 minutes on average with no problems. The GPU usage (as determined by GPU-Z) was 73%, and the power was about 65 watts. The GTX 960 seems to be a very efficient card for POEM. I stopped one WU and restarted it with no problems, but did not try a reboot or any sort of power interruption. Good luck with the rest of the test.

Same here. No problem with Win10 64bit and R7 260x (30 minutes).
I stop crunch on test and wait for osx volunteers

I don't have a Nvidia or AMD GPU, which is why I turned those off in settings.

Added the test project today, but received no work units. Is the beta test complete?

The results look very good.
I've just released a version with minor modifications on the Test Server. If it also looks ok after a short testing period, this version will go live.

The new version is online now.

The planned release had to be postponed, because the latest local tests produced an error with old (still running) CPU jobs on Windows.
